Why so many Americans today are ‘mentally ill’
Although there are a few, rare individuals who truly suffer from mental illness and actually do have a physical problem causing it, I believe that the vast majority of problems people suffer from today are spiritual.
I know because I’ve been there.
I was once under a doctor’s care for depression. Then they decided it was bipolar. For years, I took these drugs, but I never got better. If anything, I got worse.
It wasn’t until I dropped to my knees on December 1, 2001, and rededicated my life to Christ that I started to get better.
The first six months or so were hard. I went cold turkey from the drugs. I had to learn to deal with my problems without the barriers of the drugs.
Although I’ve had some setbacks along the way, giving up the drugs and learning to deal with my problems has been one of the best things that’s ever happened to me.
Finding love, forgiveness, and letting go of the rage, anger, hate, and all of the bitterness I had held onto changed my life.
There’s a huge amount of freedom that happens when you do.
This story reinforces what I have known for a long time: drugs are not the answer. Jesus is the answer.
I’ll be going into more detail on this later on my blog. I want to share my experience with all of you, especially for those of you who are using prescription drugs to try to deal with some ailment you may have.
Read this story. It will really help you.
